Winter hikes in the Grossarl Valley are a great alternative to a day on the slopes for singles seeking some peace and quiet, happy couples and families with children looking for adventure. Why not take a toboggan with you? They are available to borrow any time from Hotel Auhof free of charge.
Snowshoeing
Themed snowshoe hikes are offered almost every day in the Grossarl Valley. Why not give the snowshoe hike for early risers a go? It meets every Wednesday at 7:15 am at the Panorama Lift valley station, just a stone’s throw from Hotel Auhof. Enjoy a circular hike through the stunning natural world of the Ellmau Valley.

Cross-country skiing in the province of Salzburg - a thrilling off-piste winter sport! The Grossarl Valley boasts a total of 25 km of classic cross-country ski trails, most of which is accompanied by a parallel skate trail. Speed, trail length and style - the choice is yours! The cross-country ski trails in the province of Salzburg are suitable for all levels and ages.

Torch-lit walk through the enchanted forest
A spellbinding experience for adults and children aged 4+, the fairy-tale walk in the winter forest takes place on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. The Grossarl Tourist Office takes you for an evening stroll through the forest by torchlight, accompanied by a storyteller and mysterious flute music.
