Around 400 km of well-marked hiking trails lead to a total of 40 mountain huts as well as mountain peaks, chapels and romantic hideaways. Hotel Auhof is located right next to the Panorama Lift, so you can head up in the mountain strain-free all year round.

Hiking in all seasons
There is nowhere more beautiful to watch the seasons change than in the mountains. In spring, innumerable waterfalls rush down the hillsides, while firn glitters on the mountain peaks. In summer, you can make the most of hiking in the Grossarl Valley, conquering imposing mountain peaks and spotting rare wild animals. Autumn is the perfect time to discover the cosier side of “The Valley of Huts”: bread fresh from the wood-fired oven, local bacon, traditional “Bauernkrapfen” doughnuts, blackberry dumplings and homemade schnapps.

What tastes best in the mountains? A good snack, of course. Any keen hiker will love the rustic, homemade delicacies prepared on site with love and care. Bread straight from the oven, tangy sour cheese, hearty bacon and fresh buttermilk. Cable car hiking
The 4-star Hotel Auhof is located directly at the Panorama Lift valley station, making it the ideal starting point for a spot of “cable car hiking”. Cable car hiking in the Grossarl Valley would not be complete without a visit to one (or a few) of the mountain huts: savour homemade Alpine delicacies in the around 40 staffed huts.

Grossarl mountain lifts running times:
- May/June and October: Tuesday and Saturday
- End of June to Beginning of October: every day except Monday
- Opening hours: 9 am - 12 pm, then 1:30 pm, 2:30 pm, 3:30 pm and 4:30 pm - Children under the age of 6 ride free

The Chapel Path - the pilgrims’ path in the Grossarl Valley
The Chapel Path in Grossarl promises something a little bit different for hikers. The pilgrims’ path is around 17.5 km long, starting from the parish church in Grossarl and taking you past 10 chapels on the way to Hüttschlag. More than just another hiking trail, this excursion promises relaxation for the mind, body & soul. The 10 commandments accompany you on the way. In each chapel, one commandment has been reformulated into a good wish, intended to accompany you on your path of life. Guided tours for groups of 10 - 40 people are also available on request.
